The webinar will be present information about the midmarket based on market research data as well as interviews with 50+ midmarket CEOs and thought leaders that the Midmarket Institute has spoken to. We will discuss the distribution of the midsize companies by geography and by industry across the U.S.; provide employment and revenues for these middle market companies in relation to the overall economy; and discuss why they are important to local economies. We will present some typical challenges of middle market companies and the best ways to serve their needs.

We will also provide a brief overview of the Midmarket Institute and have an open discussion about ways in which the Chambers and the Institute can collaborate to serve the needs of these midsize companies in your community.

Meet the Presenters

Ram V. Iyer
Founder & President, The Midmarket Institute

Ram is a recognized expert on midmarket companies. He has developed a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the midmarket, having interviewed over 50 midmarket CEOs and speaking with thought leaders and experts on the midmarket.  After extensive discussions with midmarket executives, Ram conceived the Midmarket Institute as a source of research, tools, community, advocacy and marketplace specifically addressing the unique needs of midmarket companies. A prolific writer, Ram has been published in top trade journals and has been featured in Money Magazine, Fortune and CFO Magazine.  Ram is currently writing a book about how midmarket companies can survive and thrive in a recession. A former venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and executive at companies such as Boeing and Lucent, Ram is a speaker sought by conference organizers, associations and universities in the US and in Asia. Ram is a graduate of the MIT Sloan School of Management.
